  4.     DIED. Malcolm Muggeridge, 87, protean British man of
  5. letters; in Sussex, England. As the Manchester Guardian's
  6. Moscow correspondent in the 1930s, Muggeridge, once a
  7. socialist, became disillusioned with the Soviets. In Mozambique
  8. during World War II he served as a British spy, which he found
  9. degrading. He edited Punch from 1953 to 1957 and turned to
  10. television as an interviewer and documentary film writer. A
  11. devout Christian and self-described "Jesus freak," he wrote
  12. several books on religion, including Jesus Rediscovered (1969)
  13. and A Third Testament (1976).
